NHS during COVID-19 - Case Study

Today we present you our work with the NHS during COVID-19 – Case Study. We will discuss how we supplied telecommunication equipment and services to various NHS hospitals. When it comes to the nation’s hospitals it is imperative that the highest level of service is provided. In doing so, we ensure communications working at all and critical times.

Royal Free NHS trust

A first example is the Royal Free NHS Trust which included the Royal Free, Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals. The incumbent system at the Royal Free failed to provide sufficient coverage in many important areas of the building. Therefore, our engineering team provided a workable solution. Indeed, we provided an extensive survey and mindful of keeping costs to the NHS to a minimum. In fact, we re-designed the system by installing additional aerials in key areas. In that way, it allowed the hospital to receive reliable, clear audio across the site. Then we backed up with a 24-hour maintenance support package to cover with Motorola DP3400 Two-Way Radio series. Those were subsequently later replaced by the smaller, lighter and more staff suitable Hytera PD505 portables.

Chase Farm Hospital

When the paging system at Chase Farm Hospital failed, the Hospital unexpectedly found themselves without critical resilient communications. Following the success of our support package at the Royal Free, we also provided a solution for Chase Farm as quickly as possible. In fact, we booked a same day delivery for 40 Hytera PD505 Two-Way Radios arrived on site to provide reliable communications for NHS staff and contractors. Due to the success of this efficient radio system, the Hospital subsequently moved away from the legacy paging system and many of those original radios are still in use today.

Barnet Hospital

After showing efficient ability to the Royal Free and support services at Chase Farm, we then delivered a radio solution at the newly built Barnet Hospital. Given the layout of the buildings and the locations of key medical equipment within, the site provided a challenge to our engineering team. However, after an extensive survey we overcame these challenges and design and install a working system too. The system encompasses the compact Hytera RD625 repeater unit and Hytera PD505 portable Two-Way Radios.

To conclude this NHS during COVID-19 – Case Study, our experience with the NHS trust and its hospitals has revealed to be a success even in the most challenging times. For further information, please Contact Us.
