The RD985 is a DMR Non-XPT radio repeater from Hytera. Available for use in both analogue and digital modes, the RD985 is designed to be the heart of a multi-site two-way radio network. By using up to 50W of power this repeater provides excellent coverage even on the largest of sites.
There are many highlights of the Hytera RD985 repeater that make it stand out from the crowd. The ability to maximise capacity via the use of TDMA allows for twice as many users to use a single channel. Because of frequency scarcity it provides needed relief whilst reducing the expense of the system needed. The Hytera RD985 has a sleek design with LED indicators and screen on the face of the radio to help with usability whilst an integrated fan keeps the device cool to ensure consistent performance.
The Hytera RD985 stands at 483mm in width, 366mm in depth and 88mm in height whilst weighing at 8.5kg, this means that for a repeater it is a fairly compact item. Like many repeaters the RD985 can either be mounted on a wall via the use of the BRK18 wall bracket, in a vehicle using the BRK09 installation kit or can be simple placed on a table for easy access.
Battery backup and integral battery charging are available via the use of the PSU with the RD985. The repeater has a N-Type aerial connector for both TX and RX whilst also having an internal duplexer when using the optional mounting kit available.
